Interested in browsing the collection? History books are primarily located in the 900s of our collection, on the 4th floor of the stacks of the library. Different periods and regions have different call numbers, which are as follows:

910 Geography & travel
920 Biography & genealogy
930 History of ancient world (to ca. 499)
940 History of Europe
950 History of Asia
960 History of Africa
970 History of North America
980 History of South America
990 History of other areas

Books on historic preservation are a little more widely distributed, but depending on the area and topic you're interested in, these would be good places to start:
