Many young scholars have been unduly locked into using MLA Style throughout their education. However, most Social Science disciplines - including Education - follow APA (American Psychological Association) Style. The most recent, the APA 7th edition updates style headings, endorses 'they' as a singular pronoun, allows 'et al.' in more instances, may include up to 20 authors for a Reference title; standardizes the format for DOI's and URLs, and updates and offers guidelines for citing social media sources.
