Alberta H. and Henry G. Burke Papers and Jane Austen Research Collection
Call Number: MS0020
Alberta Burke was a life-long collector of Jane Austen, compiling one of the finest collections in the world. Her collecting is documented through research, auction records, and correspondence with scholars and book dealers. Alberta Burke also compiled ten notebooks of clippings, articles, correspondence, programs, and other ephemera on almost anything related to Jane Austen published here and in the UK. Her notebooks provide great insight into how Jane Austen and her novels were published, marketed, adapted, and collected during the mid to late 20th century.
