To find secondary criticism of Frankenstein in books in the library:

  • Do a SUBJECT SEARCH, typing in the author's last name first. shelley mary. You will see a number of headings for shelley, mary wollestonecraft 1797 1851.


  • Look for the subheading "Frankenstein." Here you will find books discussing this work.


  • Look for subheading "Criticism and Interpretation."  Here you will find books discussing the works of your author in general. Some of these will include chapters on Frankenstein.


  • Look for other subheadings of interest, such as "Political and Social Views," Influence," "Diaries," etc.

To find essays and chapters in other books:

Do a KEYWORD search for frankenstein, then look at the records for interesting titles. You will find chapters in books that are not primarily about the text itself.
