A talk by Sharon Beischer Harwood '65, about the work of Olive Wetzel Dennis, Goucher class of 1908, the first woman civil engineer on the B&O Railroad, whose contributions earned her the title "the woman who took the pain out of the train."

A lecture by Dr. Uta Larkey, Goucher College Associate Professor of German and co-author of Life and Loss in the Shadow of the Holocaust (2011)about her new book, which details the traumatic struggle of one Jewish family before, during, and after the Holocaust. In Life and Loss in the Shadow of the Holocaust, the Kaufmann-Steinberg family's story offers a personal, emotional context for the obstacles facing Jews attempting to emigrate from Nazi Germany during the 1930s.
