Campus Policy

In order to comply with the Copyright Revision Act of 1976, library rooms may be scheduled for a group film viewing only in connection with face-to-face teaching activities, with the professor present. For a fuller discussion of this issue, please see ALA Library Fact Sheet Number 7.

Viewing Media in the Library

The following rooms in the Athenaeum to view a DVD or VHS:

Faculty:  please note, the library no longer accepts VHS tapes for reserve, please contact the library for assistance in obtaining a DVD replacement.

  • Athenaeum 326  (multi-region DVD player with VHS)
  • Athenaeum 342  (multi-region DVD player with VHS)
  • Athenaeum 435  (multi-region DVD player with VHS)   **Only available after 5pm

External DVD players are also available for a 24-hour Reserve checkout at the Library Service Desk.  There are both Region 1 only players and unlocked players that can still play multi-region ( the players we lend aren't region free - you can only switch them a limited number of times (5) at which time they become locked in the last region used.
