Goucher College Library

This guide is designed to direct Goucher alumnae and alumni to responsible non-subscription research resources.  We'd be glad to get your suggestions for additions -- just use the comment boxes on the various pages.

at Goucher

Alumnae and alumni borrowing.  You have lifetime borrowing privileges for materials in the Goucher library.  Register at the service desk.

RefWorks.  Your RefWorks account is available to you after you graduate, through the RefWorks Alumni Program. Before registering you will need to contact us (jhuff@goucher.edu) to be sent specific instructions. Please also see the RefWorks LibGuide at http://refworks.libguides.com/home

You can still use the Goucher library web page. There are quite a few free resources on pages like our Quick Web Reference; our Government Information page is a good one to remember too -- most government information is freely available to you.  Be sure to check all the tabs on this "After Goucher" guide.

Databases?  You won’t have remote access to our subscription databases because licensing agreements with the publishers limit this to current students, faculty and staff.  You can visit and use them in house, with a temporary password supplied by the IT helpdesk in the Info Commons.  You’ll need to email articles to yourself because printing won’t be available.  You can do all this at most other academic libraries too.  Check out their websites to see what they offer.

Friends of the Goucher College Library

Focus, the Friends' twice-yearly newsletter, is a great way to keep up with what's happening at the Goucher College Library.  You can learn more about the Friends at http://www.goucher.edu/x33670.xml and support their work through the Greater Goucher Fund.  The library's subscription to LibGuides is just one way the Friends help library services at Goucher move forward.
